Does Locked In work without an internet connection?
Location-based blocking works offline. The accountability partner feature requires an internet connection to send and receive approval requests.
Is my location data shared?
No. Location data is processed on your device to determine when you enter or leave your configured zones. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Why aren't my Red Zones working?
The most common reason is that Locked In was force quit — meaning you swiped it away in the app switcher instead of pressing the Home button. iOS does not allow force-quit apps to monitor your location. To fix it, simply open Locked In and your Red Zones will reactivate immediately. To prevent it, just press the Home button when you're done — don't swipe apps away. Force quitting doesn't save battery; Apple confirms iOS manages memory automatically. If your Red Zones still aren't working after reopening the app, check that Location Services is set to "Always" for Locked In in your iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Locked In.
Does Locked In drain my battery?
No. Locked In uses iOS's built-in geofencing system, which is extremely battery-efficient. Your phone's location chip handles it in hardware, not software. You won't notice any difference in battery life.
